Material
Eco! Eco! Eco! (Just in case you haven't got the brief yet) The MugGuard is made from recycled PP, which we've modified to increase performance and durability against the elements, and at the end of its life can be recycled... Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
When it comes to packaging, we prefer a minimalistic approach, so you'll find the MugGuard and its Velcro neatly assembled to a simple cardboard hanger. No additional zip-ties or plastic in sight.
Size
Length: 600mm
Width: 85mm
Weight: 105g
Fitting using Velcro is very easy. You are supplied with a 900mm roll, which allows for 6 fasteners.
- Take the roll and wrap the Velcro around the fork lower, fluffy side facing in (we like to use technical terms), and overlap this by 40-50mm. Cut two of this length from the roll. These are the bottom fasteners.
- Repeat the process in line with where the middle slots will be positioned on the fork.
- Wrap the remaining Velcro around the top arch in line with where they will eventually be fitted, again overlapping by 40-50mm. Cut two of these from the roll.
- Offer the guard up to the fork and choose which top slots align with the arch, to hold the guard at the best angle to allow maximum clearance.
- Thread the Velcro straps through the designated slots and fasten the guard to the fork. Start at the top and work your way down. Be firm with the Velcro but there is no need to over-tighten and risk damaging the guard.
- It may take a little adjusting to get the guard seated firmly but after a short while, it will naturally mould to the shape of the fork.
- The MugGuard is 85mm wide and will fit most standard MTB suspension forks fitted with disc brakes and a forward-facing arch. Please measure the width of the fork below the arch, to ensure compatibility.
- The 'legs' of the guard extend down 150mm, please ensure there is no more than 140mm distance from the underside of the arch to the top of the 'lowers' to allow room for the fasteners.
- The guard can potentially be fitted to the rear of some bikes, typically used as a rear linkage/shock guard. Compatibility is not guaranteed so please ask for advice before purchasing.
- There is so much variation between frame and fork manufacturers, and the geometry changes every year which makes it hard to produce a truly 'universal' product. If you are not sure about the compatibility please email us with your bike/fork model.
- The MugGuard is highly unlikely to fit between older rim style brakes (V Brakes) and is unlikely to fit a rigid fork.

Rural Delivery
If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.
SHIPPING BIKES:
We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.
All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.
DELIVERY FAQ'S
How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:
- You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
- Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
- If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
- During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
- Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.
What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?
Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:
- Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
- If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.
Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched. By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.
If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
Can you ship to my PO Box?
Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide us with a physical address.
