Details of the Giro Empire SLX road cycling shoes for men
The minimalist shoe with the performance of the legendary Empire features Giro's patented Synchwire™ shank construction, consisting of ultra-light monofilament nylon reinforced with thermally welded Teijin® elastomers (TPU). The classic lacing ensures a superior fit and pressure point-free comfort. The Easton® EC90 SLX2 carbon fiber sole is tuned for the perfect balance between weight and stiffness, and combined with the customizable Super Natural Fit footbed system, you pedal with unmatched pedaling efficiency and comfort.
TECHNOLOGIES
Synchwire
Synchwire construction is a seamless upper that is ventilated and reinforced to create a lightweight cycling shoe with incredible airflow and shape retention. Synchwire is an advanced composite material and consists of thermofixed film that provides durability, an inner fleece to distribute power from the BOA® system to the upper for direct power transfer and a monofilament mesh for ventilation.
Easton EC90 SLX2 carbon sole
Giro works closely with Easton's engineering team to develop proprietary soles that provide the most direct and powerful connection to the pedals without compromising comfort. Through advanced modeling and in-house fixturing in their extensive testing lab, each outsole is engineered to provide ideal stiffness in 3 zones: Toe, Arch and Heel, while maintaining the lowest possible weight and stack height (up to 6.5mm). In addition, the flatter edges of Giro soles allow the upper of the shoe to adapt to larger or wider feet (what Giro calls the spillover effect) without uncomfortable pinching or binding.
Supernatural Fit Kit with customizable arch support
The Giro SuperNatural Fit System combines a bike-specific footbed with an adjustable arch support kit. By simply selecting from one of the low, medium and high arch supports included in the kit, riders and fitters can independently adjust the arch support to improve fit and pedaling efficiency while reducing or eliminating common complaints such as hotspots, numbness and cramping. The system is available in men's and women's sizes and includes X-Static® fibers in the footbed to combat odors and other bacteria.

Rural Delivery
If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.
SHIPPING BIKES:
We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.
All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.
DELIVERY FAQ'S
How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:
- You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
- Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
- If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
- During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
- Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.
What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?
Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:
- Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
- If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.
Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched. By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.
If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
Can you ship to my PO Box?
Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide us with a physical address.
