  • More comfort on fitness bikes
  • Nothing gets numb
  • Rating „Recommendable“

The SFC3 is ergonomically optimized, scientifically tested and incredibly effective at relieving your sensitive areas on a fitness bike, e-bike or sporty touring bike. Even without cycling shorts, the SFC3 is your perfect companion for every day comfort.

Anatomical Gel Pads

When cycling, most of your body weight rests on the small saddle surface. To prevent discomfort in the sitting area, the pressure is distributed as evenly as possible over the sit bones. Gel pads are inlayed in specific ergonomic positions to help alleviate pressures under these bony structures.

Optimized Relief Channel

The two comparison pictures of the pressure measurements shows how the SCF3 provides significantly more comfort than a conventional fitness saddle. The large anatomical relief channel in the middle prevents pressure on sensitive soft tissue areas. To prevent discomfort, the shape and position of the channel has been optimized with the help of many test riders and state-of-the-art pressure measurement techniques. In addition, gel pads integrated into the seat help to distribute the weight of the body while seated as well as continual support through the full, natural movements of the body while pedaling.

The right size

The shape and size of the saddle must match the sit bone width of the rider to maximize both comfort and overall enjoyment while riding. The pelvis is V-shaped and the saddle must offer the sit bones a large contact surface while being able to support the demands of different sitting positions. The more forward and aggressive the rider sits, the further forward the sit bones contact the saddle. Two saddle sizes are offered to match the rider’s unique sit bone width.

MAXIMUM COMFORT – Adapted to your posture

As a fitness cyclist, you sit on the saddle in a much more upright position. The SFC3 is designed to match this posture.

The typical flat and wide saddles that are common on fitness bikes can contribute to discomfort. The SFC3 has a supportive yet not overdone design to give you specific support where you need it the most. Notable features that aid to this saddle’s comfort are the orthopedic foam and gel pads. Additionally, the sides of the saddle are particularly soft to alleviate any unnecessary pressures along the inner thighs.

THE COMFORT FORMULA – Sophisticated qualities

In order to provide the maximum prevention of saddle discomfort, Ergon developers focussed on main comfort qualities to enhance the fitness or touring riders‘ experience. These qualities include the construction of the saddle surface, the structure of the saddle supportive material, the saddle shell and the ergonomically anatomical relief channel. The difference is in the details.

MAXIMUM LEGROOM – The benefit of a narrow saddle nose

The most enjoyable bicycle tour is when there is no distractions of unnecessary saddle pressure or friction. If your thighs rub against the front of the saddle when pedaling, this can quickly end the enjoyment of your ride. The saddle nose of the SFC3 has a narrow cut, giving you the best possible legroom when cycling and prevents any unnecessary rubbing.

THE FORMULA FROBÖSE – Seal of approval for a better quality of life

The Ergon SFC3 has been awarded the rating „Recommendable“ according to the „Formula Froböse“, a seal of approval developed by the renowned university professor, health expert and bestselling author Prof. Dr. Ingo Froböse. The „Formel Froböse“ is a scientific rating for products in the areas of exercise, nutrition and regeneration. This approval indicates a product that benefits someone’s quality of life.

ORTHOPEDIC FOAM – Comfortable and durable

The padding of the SFC3 is made of orthopedic comfort foam, which we have designed for fitness bikes, e-bikes and touring bikes. The foam is supportive, soft, but does not collapse. In addition to the foam, specific gel pad inlays offer even more comfort under the sitting area. With this saddle, it is not absolutely necessary to wear cycling shorts. The saddle is covered with robust microfiber to prevent abrasions and maintain the durability of the saddle.

Rural Delivery

If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.

SHIPPING BIKES:

We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.

All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.

DELIVERY FAQ'S

How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:

  • You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
  • Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
  • If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
  • During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
  • Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.

What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?

Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:

  • Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
  • If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.

Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched.  By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.

If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
