100 % MADE IN GERMANY – Completely new manufacturing process
The Ergon GXR is 100% made in Germany. From development to the material to the production – the entire manufacturing process takes place in Germany. For the GXR, we have created a unique manufacturing process in Germany utilizing an expanded TÜV-certified Ergon rubber compound.
AIRCELL-RUBBER IS ERGONOMIC – Micro air bubbles make the difference
The first time in a lightweight MTB grip, the GXR combines lightweight construction and ergonomics. Utilizing a new production process, Ergon AirCell-Rubber is formed into a grip that is both ergonomic and tuned to the demands of mountain biking. The high-quality and unique AirCell-Rubber, with its countless micro air bubbles, provide very high damping, offer a soft feel and reduce grip weight. Conventional foam grips are pressed and formed in a mold. This process significantly limits design. Ergonomic shaping is not possible or is it possible to coordinated surface texture zones for the functional areas of the hand. These shortcoming lead to earlier rider fatigue and poor bike handling. With the ergonomic GXR you have your race bike under control at all times.
FIRST CHOICE FOR RACE BIKES – No clamp, no inner core
With no inner core or clamp, we have managed to reduce the weight to 90 grams (size Small, including end plugs). If you want to turn your cross-country bike into a lightweight race rocket without sacrificing grip, control and ergonomics, you can do it with the GXR.
Two sizes for perfect ergonomics
MTB courses and routes are becoming increasingly demanding. There is also a trend towards downcountry, where longer travel lightweight full suspension bikes are used for racing and faster backcountry pursuits . Traditionally bikes with a focus on lightweight construction usually do not offer optimum ergonomics and control. This is where the Ergon GXR becomes the game changer on today’s mountain bike cockpits: ergonomics enhanced, offered in two sizes, reduces discomfort and provides the necessary grip to control the bike in any situation.
Special textures for every zone of the hand
In a MTB grip outstanding grip feel includes not only the ergonomic design but also surface textures. The surfaces of the GXR are adapted and tuned to the different areas of the hand. The GXR fits perfect in the hand when it comes to the fastest MTB mission.
Extra grip at the fingertips
For extremely technical singletrack, 100% grip on the handlebar is required. The texture is aggressive on the GXR grips where the fingertips must grip firmly.

Rural Delivery
If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.
SHIPPING BIKES:
We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.
All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.
DELIVERY FAQ'S
How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:
- You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
- Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
- If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
- During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
- Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.
What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?
Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:
- Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
- If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.
Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched. By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.
If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
