- Made for Downhill
- The world-class choice
- Unique rubber compound
The world class downhill grip is now even better! By working together with top professionals like Rémy Métailler and Vali Höll, the GD1 has evolved to provide even more comfort and control in demanding terrain. The GD1 Evo features more damping, better control, and enhanced comfort for more riding fun. Less gripping power is required due to its conical shape, super soft thumb zone and new inner stop design. In addition, the factory version features a unique rubber compound exclusively made in Germany for an even more precise grip feel. The GD1 Evo is twist-proof on carbon handlebars and available in two diameters.
Conical grip design
The GD1 EVO Factory has a conical, tapered shape. The grip diameter gradually increases towards the end of the grip. This increases the damping properties towards the end of the grip while the inboard diameter stays slim and responsive. The result is that you get the combined advantages of great comfort and total control on demanding trail.
Minimum effort – maximum grip
The anti-slip tread pattern along with the new super soft thumb zone provides maximum grip. Additionally, the slim redesigned inner stop improves the ability to quickly position the hand and ensures full access of the shift levers. The overall design requires maximum control with less gripping force.
Available in two sizes
The GD1 Evo is available in two diameters, standard and slim. Standard is recommended for glove sizes Large / X-Large (8.5 – 10.5) or for riders who want increased cushioning. The Slim version is suitable for glove sizes Small / Medium (6.5 – 8.5) or riders who prefer grips with a smaller grip range.
EXCLUSIVE QUALITY – Grip rubber Made in Germany
The material used in Ergon grips meets the highest quality purity standards, is TÜV-certified, durable and absolutely unique in the world of cycling grips. The silicone-based, UV-resistant rubber compound of the GD1 EVO Factory is developed and manufactured exclusively for Ergon in Germany. Ergonomics, product design and engineering – all made in Germany.
FACTORY CUSTOM RUBBER – Increased durability
Cycling grips are repeatedly subject to mechanical wear and abrasion – particularly in an environment as tough as mountain biking. Ergon’s exclusive „Factory Custom Rubber“ compound maintains its high grip properties and precise structure much longer than other compounds.
INNER CLAMP – Internal clamp
The internal aluminum clamp of the GD series leaves ample space for controls as well as supports a wide gripping position. The strength of this clamping system prevents any twisting of the grip, even on carbon bars.
REPLACEABLE END PLUGS–Added toughness
The GD1’s end plugs are replaceable –a useful detail for adding even more longevity to your grips.

Rural Delivery
If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.
SHIPPING BIKES:
We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.
All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.
DELIVERY FAQ'S
How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:
- You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
- Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
- If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
- During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
- Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.
What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?
Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:
- Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
- If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.
Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched. By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.
If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
