ENVE - MELEE ROAD FRAMESET - DAMASCUS GREY
Low stock
In 2021 ENVE debuted the ultra-premium Custom Road and promised that the full-custom road bike made in-house at our Ogden, Utah facility was not a one-hit wonder. Rather, this marked the opening of a new chapter for ENVE as a frame and complete bicycle manufacturer.
Enter the Melee, a purpose-built road racing bicycle designed and engineered to meet the high-performance and versatility demands of today’s road racers. The Melee is a no-holds-barred modern race bike built specifically to meet the demands of the discipline.
REAL WORLD FAST
The Melee takes design cues from ENVE's own Custom Road, but where the Custom Road prioritizes customization, the Melee is designed to achieve efficiency from the second the air begins to flow over its surfaces and is purpose built for speed. Its monocoque design allows for narrower tube widths and refined tube shapes to improve aero performance.
Building on ENVE's foundation of Real World Fast aero technologies, the Melee has been designed to deliver aero efficiency that is on par with the fastest bikes on the road. The Melee features all the aerodynamic trappings expected to achieve top-of-class efficiency – minimal frontal area, Kamm-tailed tube shapes and full front-end integration. Additionally, the Melee’s tube shapes perfectly complement our SES™ rim profiles, harmonising airflow transitions from the wheel to frame surfaces to ensure a composed and stable ride experience in variable wind conditions.
By simply swapping out the SES™ wheelset and tires, one can change the Melee's personality to meet the needs of the day's objective.
- Melee + SES 2.3 = Climbing
- Melee + SES 3.4 = All Road Versatility
- Melee + SES 4.5 = Road Race
- Melee + SES 6.7 = Triathlon or Lead Out
VERSATILE PERFORMANCE
Versatility has come to define the modern race bike. From criteriums to classics, one bike can do it all. This is largely accomplished with tire clearance. The Melee features a generous max tire clearance of 35mm, with the geometry and handling characteristics optimized for tires between 27mm and 32mm. Run 25mm to 30mm tires for road racing, or choose 28mm to 35mm tires for mixed surfaces.
MATERIAL OPTIMISED DESIGN
The Melee is made using various forms of uni-directional carbon fiber following our Material Optimized Design (M.O.D.) process. Decades of marketing hype around the mystique of carbon fiber has led people to focus on the material itself instead of the process it is subjected to. At ENVE, we design and build to the strengths of carbon fiber. This means running continuous fibers throughout the part, tapering the laminate and removing excess material to save weight. Furthermore, fibers are layered and oriented to achieve zone-specific performance requirements like impact toughness, stiffness and compliance. The Melee, like all ENVE products, has been extensively tested and qualified in the lab and on the road to ensure the intended ENVE ride experience. Our promise is that if you ride ENVE, you're riding the best.
ENVE CHASSIS
When ENVE introduced the Custom Road in 2021, they introduced the ENVE Chassis. Simply, an ENVE Chassis is the canvas upon which you can assemble your dream bike. An ENVE Melee is available as a Chassis only and includes the frame, fork, headset, handlebar, stem, and seatpost, which are proprietary to the Melee.
With the Melee, ENVE's new integrated Road Stem is debuted. This stem takes design cues from ENVE's Aero Road Stem and allows cables, wires and brake hoses to pass through the handlebar to head tube - hidden from sight and from the wind. The Melee also features a dedicated aero seatpost with a Kamm-tail design and ENVE's patented twin-bolt saddle rail clamp.
GEOMETRY
With racing in focus, the Melee has been tuned for response, precision and agility. Seven frame sizes aim to accommodate riders of all sizes and fit needs, while five unique fork rakes ensure that optimal handling is achieved regardless of frame size.
MELEE SPECIFICATIONS
The Melee is compatible with all brands of electronic groupsets. It can be configured with all 1x mechanical drivetrains but will only accept Shimano 2x mechanical groupsets (the Melee requires continuous front derailleur housing, making it incompatible with SRAM and Campagnolo 2x mechanical groups).

Rural Delivery
If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.
SHIPPING BIKES:
We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.
All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.
DELIVERY FAQ'S
How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:
- You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
- Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
- If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
- During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
- Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.
What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?
Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:
- Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
- If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.
Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched. By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.
If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
Can you ship to my PO Box?
Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide us with a physical address.
