Every ENVE G-Series wheelset is hand built in Wide Open's specialist workshop by a craftsman wheelbuilder. Our expertise and precise control over the build process ensure that every wheel we produce delivers the ultimate in performance and reliability.
The G27 is the ultimate gravel component, capable of transforming any drop bar bike into an off-road capable rig. When 650B wheels are paired with larger volume tyres, the actual diameter of the outside of the tyre is close to a 700c wheel with a smaller tyre. This means frame geometry stays consistent between wheel sizes, but the 650B wheel adds more tyre and therefore lower tyre pressures. This makes a drop-bar 700c bike more confidence-inspiring over rough terrain.
LIGHTNESS AND WIDTH
The G27 is the widest, and also the lightest, road/gravel wheel we make. At 320g per rim, built wheelsets can be as low as 1257 grams. Paired with a generous 27mm width, these lightweights can be paired with wider tires to create a wheel system that’s equal or lighter in weight to other wheels, while being stronger, quicker and more capable.
TIRE SAVING TECH
With an inner rim width of 27mm, the G27 is designed to be paired with gravel treads between 35 and 45mm. Tyres in these widths provide control and traction that optimize the experience of gravel riding endeavors. Many tyres in this spec however do not offer much by way of pinch-flat protection. The forward-looking G27 uses our Wide Hookless Bead anti-flat technology to combat ride-ending pothole encounters. Wide beads provide a larger, more forgiving surface during bottom outs, protecting the tyre from the dreaded pinch-flat. This technology means you can ride the tyre pressures you want, confidently, without limitations.
TUBELESS DOMINANCE
Designed to be run with tires between 42c and 2.25”, in pressures as low as 20 PSI, the G27 was made to run low. Low pressures means fewer flats, more control, and surprising to some, lower rolling resistance. G series wheels are intended for tubeless applications and feature a molded bead-lock to ensure that your tires will remain secure and sealed to the rim over even the roughest terrain. Despite ‘minimum PSI’ markings to the contrary, many riders are experimenting with pressure setting in the 20s, thanks to the bead-lock and Wide Hookless Bead technologies.
Simply put, the G27 exceeds the performance and ride quality demands of serious mixed surface cyclists. Armed against pinch flats, with a tough, relentless but refined character, it is the king of the road, path and trail.
"The fire-road descent is where we felt the G27's unique design come into play the most... they gobbled up the roots and spit out the rocks."

Rural Delivery

If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.

SHIPPING BIKES:

We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.

All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.

DELIVERY FAQ'S

How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:

  • You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
  • Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
  • If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
  • During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
  • Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.

What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?

Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:

  • Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
  • If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.

Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched.  By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.

If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
