Known for his wild and aggressive big mountain style, Brage Vestavik actually has roots deep in the DH race world. The Norwegian giant is as at home on a racetrack as he is on a knife edge cliff, ready to carve some turns down a scree field.
As a long time SDG athlete, Brage’s saddle has been in the works for some time. The perfect blend of freeride form and function, this Norse legend’s saddle is based on the SDG Apollo. Whether it’s a downhill bike or your dirt jump bike, the Apollo is a favorite of gravity riders everywhere. The B-Rage saddle is designed to take all the abuse B-rage himself can dish out.
Designed to survive the punishment of professional dirt jump and freeride athletes, the B-rage takes our traditional Apollo and gives it a look worthy of a Norse god. This signature edition saddle features a synthetic leather top and the same artwork that emblazons Brage’s own body. Designed by Tattoo artist @kairee_robin, the artwork is inspired by Norway’s legendary storytellers through the centuries. “I’ve always loved Norse Mythology, and it represents where I’m from as well as my ancestors,” says Vestavik. The Snake on the top is Midgardsormen, a monstrous sea serpent that dwells below the oceans and encircles the earth, biting its own tail. The two wolves are Skoll and Hati, who are destined to chase the moon and the sun until Ragnarok.
“I love the thicker leather look and I also really wanted to add the stitches that are inspired by old BMX seats. I’m so stoked we got to do that! The material works well in the wet too and doesn’t suck up water. I was also really stoked to work with my good friend Kai Robin, who is a tattoo artist from Norway that I love to use for most of my projects. It’s always cool for me to be able to bring in the old Norwegian culture and mythology. Cheers SDG for believing in my vision. It's been years in the making, so really stoked to get it out there!”
While it shares the same base and compact shell as our Patriot DH saddle, The Apollo has more upper padding for impact resistance and a slightly wider nose for enhanced pinching capabilities.
