This custom-built Colnago Y1RS is exactly that.

Built here at Rouleur Cycles, this project combines some of the finest components available in modern cycling into one incredibly refined machine — blending Italian design, WorldTour-level technology, and uncompromising performance.

The Frameset: Colnago Y1RS

At the heart of the build sits the stunning Colnago Y1RS frameset in Blue/Black.

The Y1RS represents everything modern performance road bikes have become:

• exceptional stiffness-to-weight balance

Colnago’s race heritage is obvious the moment you see the frame in person. Every tube profile, transition, and detail has purpose. It’s aggressive without being excessive, fast without sacrificing ride quality, and visually one of the most striking bikes we’ve ever built.

SRAM RED E1 — The New Benchmark

This build uses the latest SRAM RED E1 AXS groupset — SRAM’s lightest and most refined road groupset to date.

The new RED E1 platform brings:

• faster front shifting
• improved braking feel
• lighter overall system weight
• updated ergonomics
• cleaner integration

Paired with a 50/37 chainring setup and 10-33 cassette, the gearing delivers an ideal balance for New Zealand riding conditions — fast enough for flat-out race efforts while still offering usable climbing range for long days in the hills.

The build also features:

• RED E1 crankset
• RED AXS front and rear derailleurs
• RED Paceline X rotors
• RED Flattop chain

Every component was selected with performance and ride feel in mind.

Zipp 404 Firecrest — Fast Everywhere

Wheel choice can completely transform a bike, and the Zipp 404 Firecrest wheelset was the perfect match for this build.

The modern 404 Firecrest has evolved into one of the most versatile high-performance wheelsets on the market:

• aerodynamic efficiency
• stable handling in crosswinds
• low rolling resistance
• excellent tubeless performance

Wrapped in 30mm Continental GP5000 S TR tyres, the bike delivers impressive comfort and grip without sacrificing speed.

This setup is equally at home racing, climbing, or covering huge endurance kilometres.
