WHAT IS IT?
A fusion of two legendary ASSOS products, climaJet and luftSchutz, creating a compact all-around wind/rainbreaker high performance insulation shell. Available in two versions:

1. sV.climaSchutz – shellVest, sleeveless

2. sJ.climaSchutz – shellJack, long sleeves

ALS CLIMARANGE
All-season.

HOW TO USE IT?
Created to be your best friend, climaSchutz protects you from wind, drizzle, light rain and cold. Ideally suited for training and or racing in changing and cooler weather conditions, use it to insulate your body on cool, damp early morning rides, long downhills and, of course, when exposed to light rain.

ALS TIPS
climaSchutz protects from the outside, which also means that outbound moisture transfer is slowed. This happens regardless of the breathability of the wind/rainbreaker fabric. Consequently, we do not recommend using shells (regardless of brand) when riding very hard for long periods of time because the body will sweat more, dehydrate faster and, in the process, loose essential minerals. To minimize this effect, climaSchutz incorporates lateral air vents to accelerate evaporation and cool more effectively.

TECHNOLOGICAL ENGINEERING
The requirements in the technical briefing from the internal ASSOS Werksmannschaft to the ASSOS prototyping studio were simple to put on paper but difficult to put into production: “Give us the best of all worlds! Light weight, low volume, superior breathability, thermal insulation and good rain pro- tection. Oh, and while you’re at it, make the finished product transparent so we can quickly spot our teammates under inclement racing conditions.” The ASSOS design team did it!

KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • AEPD — racingCut. Ergonomically shaped to fit your body in the cycling position. Clicks on and moves with you.
  • climaJet textile, a proprietary fabric developed in the ASSOS textile lab. Its unique characteristics include “transparency,” elasticity and increased water protection.
  • Special fabric and advanced tailoring techniques reduce or eliminate distractions from noisy rustling and flapping as speed increases.
  • Ventilated side and arm panels accelerate the evaporation process.
  • ASSOS “pocket slots.” The lower rear panel of the climaSchutz features two openings cleverly positioned over your jersey / jacket pockets. Designed to serve not only as ventilation slots but also as access points to inner pockets without removal or excessive maneuvering of the jacket.
  • Rear panel emergency pocket.
  • Extended rear panel protects lower back from road spray and dirt.
  • Adjustable elastic “snuggies” at neck and wrist ensure proper insulation and stability.
  • ASSOS easy entry system” for a faster, safer zippered closure.

CONCLUSION
The climaSchutz vest and jacket shells are the ideal all-around insulation / protection solution for all- weather, all-season performance cycling. Engineered to be low volume, they exemplify the ASSOS goal: create purpose-driven garments that work!

Rural Delivery

If your shipping address is classified as a "rural delivery" (RD) address you are required to select the rural delivery shipping option at checkout. Please note that if your address is rural delivery and the incorrect shipping option is selected, your order will not ship until the additional fee for rural delivery has been received. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the appropriate delivery option is selected to avoid any delays to an order. If you are unsure whether your address is classified as a rural delivery address, please check with your local postal service or contact us for assistance.

SHIPPING BIKES:

We do ship bikes! Every bike that is sold is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is at it's best operational order when it reaches you. If your bike needs to be freighted to you, it will then be boxed with factory-level care and precision to ensure minimal risk and assembly when it arrives.

All bikes that are shipped will be partially disassembled to fit within courier size constraints. We always endeavour to reduce the complexity and amount of re-assembly possible; however, we always recommend you have the bike reassembled or inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic before riding.

DELIVERY FAQ'S

How long does delivery typically take?
Delivery times are generally 3-5 working days on average; however, please allow an extra 1-2 working days for Rural delivery. Note that this is not a guarantee, but an observational quote based on typical delivery times. We often see faster delivery, and rarely see longer wait times unless:

  • You have ordered a bike. Every bike that we sell and ship in a box is first assembled, tuned, and tested to ensure it is it's best operational order when it reaches you. Please allow for an additional 2-3 working days while this takes place. In the case of an e-Bike, please allow for a further working day as we organise Dangerous Goods shippment.
  • Your order is a custom order (not-in-stock or standard stocked items) that has to be specifically ordered from suppliers - we will do our best to communicate any potential delays.
  • If your order requires customisation or additional labour (eg. customising handle bars, changing of parts on a bike, etc.)
  • During peak seasons or public holidays, delivery times can be extended due to courier demand and delay.
  • Please note that there may be delays in receiving your online order from 24th December until the 11th of January, due to limited courier runs.

What if there is a delay extending beyond the quoted time?

Please be aware that our control is limited once it has been handed to the courier. Once you get a tracking number, the job is booked with the courier and it is in their hands, not ours, so please be aware of the following:

  • Couriers have their own specified policy regarding time frames, delays, damage and logging inquiries for lost goods.
  • If goods are damaged in transit, the issue needs to be logged directly with the courier company.

Based on this, we always recommend calling the courier company first as sometimes it can be as simple as a lost courier card and the package being at your local depot. All these details will be in the tracking information emailed to you when your order was dispatched.  By directly contacting the people handling your order, it reduces the chain of communication so all your questions can find answers in a faster and more accurate fashion.

If you are still having trouble or have any additional questions, feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to help.
